About the Author
Yaeli Dukler is a multidisciplinary studio artist currently studying art with an emphasis in painting at the College of Creative Studies at the University of California Santa Barbara. She holds a studio there where she explores and experiments across themes of identity, perception, vision, and otherworldly landscapes. Her work bridges abstraction and representation, drawing upon cellular and organic forms, weaving together texture, movement, and pattern to create immersive dreamscapes. A significant part of her practice involves utilizing a motif of raised dots that has developed into a visual language of spatial depth and tactile presence. This sensory element is a reflection of her own visual impairment, as she emulates the beauty of blurry vision, considers accessibility and alternative ways of experiencing art. Through her evolving practice, she invites viewers to consider their own relationships to their senses and perception.
