Side by side, the goddess Calypso and I
Across a millennial's twilight paradise
These heavenly ties are the ones that bind
Touching me has never crossed your sweet mind
But, love, holding you crosses mine all the time
Side by side, the lonely Calypso and I
You must spend hours bathing in moonshine
Constellations glow periwinkle under smooth skin
These heavenly ties are the ones that bind
Your truth, my truth, and my lie, intertwined
The fires of secret and shame engulf my heart
Side by side, the bitter Calypso and I
Never in our exile will we find
A love that gives as often as it takes
These heavenly ties are the ones that bind
My eyes only for you, yours not for mine
The tight fabric of fate’s tragic design
Side by side, the timeless Calypso and I
These heavenly ties are the ones that bind
